YULETIDE: GOVERNOR’S AIDE SET TO BUILD ONE BEDROOM FLAT FOR A WIDOW

…says investing in humanity attracts blessing

In his avowed determination and commitment towards adding value to humanity and to give a sense of belonging to the present day generation, the Special Assistant to Governor on Entertainment Industry, Mr. David Sergeant (Utang Akwa Ibom) is set to build a one bedroom flat for a widow Mrs. Mary Edet Eton of Mbiatok Itam, Itu Local Government Area.

He made the promise on Wednesday 30th December, 2020 during the 2020 edition of Mbreofiong at Mbiatok Itam Junction following a subsequent inspection of the site on December 1st 2021 flanked by Mr. Akan Eyo, Councillor Representing Ward 8 in Uyo and Chairman Utang Akwa Ibom Foundation amongst others.

Mr. Utang Akwa Ibom stated that the greatest investment in life is to invest in humanity which according to him attracts God’s blessings which is part of his desire to contribute to nations building. He said that his inspiration is gotten from Her Excellency, Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel‘s leadership acumen through her Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Programme (FEYReP) pet project to change the fortunes of the underprivileged in the state which he mentioned has inspired him a lot in giving back to the society.

The Governor’s aide noted that improving the living conditions of women and empowering them accordingly at the grassroots is dovetails with the wealth creation and poverty alleviation mantra of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration.

Mrs. Mary Edet Eton is a widow from Mbiatok Itam in Itu Local Government Area who earns a living through trading and selling of water yam for more than 7 seven decades.
