Governor Emmanuel Fulfill Promise Of Enrolling Street Children To School

In furtherance of his determination to better the standard of living for the little children thereby projecting them in a good light in other for them to compete excellently with their contemporaries, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel has fulfilled his promise made to these street children on Thursday 7th January, 2021.

Speaking with newsmen immediately after the successful registration of this street children fondly address as ‘Ndito Skolombo’ Governor Udom Emmanuel through Hon. Ukai Udeme Emmanuel, the immediate past Vice Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council stated that his administration is committed to the welfare, well-being and safety of the children in all ramifications.

“We have endeavoured to provide a conducive learning environment complete with tools that will enhance, deepen and expand the frontiers of knowledge. We are also maintaining rigorous training of teachers to bring them up to speed with modern approaches to teaching.

“We have invested huge resources in ensuring that our children are made ready for the globalized world of the 21 Century where skills, talents, passion, ability to think outside the box and sharp execution of tasks are the underlying requirements for success”. He said.

They are enrolled into the prestigious Methodist Primary School, Itiam Etoi into different classes by the school management. Hon. Ukai Udeme Emmanuel also noted that every modalities has been set in place to train and take care these children starting from shelter, food, resources and other logistics while adequate and proper monitoring of their activities within and outside the school premises is quaranteed.
