ITU LG V’CHAIRMAN EMERGES DEAN OF FEMALE VICE CHAIRMEN IN A’IBOM

…says women welfare is her priority

The Vice Chairman of Itu Local Government Council, Hon Emem Ekpanya has emerged as the dean of female Vice Chairmen in Akwa Ibom State following a unanimous proclamation of her appointment by other female Vice Chairmen.

The declaration of the appointment took place on Tuesday at Divine Mandate Campaign office, Ewet Housing Estate during a new year meeting of the forum.

Speaking at the meeting, Her Excellency Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel, wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State stated that the appointment of Hon. Emem Ekpanya as the dean of the forum is a welcome development following her unprecedented contributions to growth, welfare, well-being and development of the women in the state.

The Governor’s wife represented by Rev. Mrs. Rose Wills, Special Assistant to Governor on Women Development noted that Her Excellency Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel is vigorously committed and passionate about the welfare of the women in the state towards charting a new course and changing the already existing negative perspection of the women.

On her part, Hon. Emem Ekpanya, the newly appointed Dean of the female Vice Chairmen in Akwa Ibom and the Vice Chairman of Itu Local Government Area thanked and appreciated Her Excellency, Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel for giving her the platform cum opportunity to drive the course of the women in the state reiterating her commitment towards making the women’s welfare as her priority in the state.
