CHAIRMAN HOUSE COMMITTEE ON ENVIRONMENT TASKS UYO CITIZENS ON SANITATION PARTICIPATION

The Chairman House Committee On Education/Environmental Affairs and Related Matters and councillor representing Uyo Urban Ward 1 in Uyo Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Stella Archibong has urged all residents, citizens and indeed the entire Akwa Ibom people to actively participate in the state monthly sanitation which hold on Saturday.

Hon. Stella Archibong gave the urged on Friday during an interview session on Passion 94.5 FM in Uyo. She stated that it’s incumbent upon all and sundry to take active part in keeping the state and its environs clean because cleanliness is next to Godliness.

She stated that all modalities to make the February Edition of the monthly sanitation exercise a huge success has been set most particularly with the aid of Hon. Uwemedimo Udo, the Executive Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council in conjunction with Akwa Ibom State State Waste Management Environmental Agency led by Hon. Prince Ikim.

She applauded the unwavering support and solidarity displayed by the Executive Chairman of Uyo for accepting to facilitate the movement while urging every members of the public to join relevant agencies to ensure that Akwa Ibom is kept clean and neat at every point in time.

The Governor of ward 1 in Uyo maintained that the sanitation exercise will feature desilting of drains within Uyo metropolitan city, packing of debris and sweeping of every nooks and crannies of the area which the exercise will commence by 6am with the Executive Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council, Hon. Uwemedimo Udo taking the lead with other Councillors within the area.
