Supervisors of the ongoing Teaching Practice (TP) of Akwa Ibom State College of Education, Afaha Nsit have been charged on ethical adherence while discharging their supervisory exercise on Student Teachers.
The Provost of the College, Dr. Daniel Udo gave the charge Tuesday during 2021/2022 NCE Teaching Practice Staff Orientation Exercise at the school Campus.
Dr. Udo said teaching practice is practical oriented and tailored towards the production of highly motivated, conscientious and efficient classroom teachers, as such supervisors should contribute their quota towards achieving the desired objective(s).

Speaking further, the Provost of the only state owned teachers training college added that the task of TP supervision is enormous and professionally driven, hence, the supervisors must conduct themselves as good ambassadors of the citadel of learning.
He commended the TP Team for putting up the orientation exercise, and remained optimistic the exercise shall yield expected result.
Speaking earlier, the Dean, School of Education, Dr. Edem Ntuk said the six months teaching practice exercise which commenced in the month of June shall span through November, 2022.

Dr. Ntuk re-emphasized the need for supervisors to abide by the rules and regulations of the schools they will be assigned to supervise Student Teachers.
He added that they are expected to assist the student-teachers where necessary and to intimate them with the challenges and problems that are associated with the teaching profession.

Dr. Ntuk insisted that all supervisions must be carried out at the stipulated schools, as no supervisor is permitted to carry out his/her supervisory roles within the comfort of their offices.
Others who also made contributions during the NCE Teaching Practice Staff Orientation were; Teaching Practice Coordinator, Dr. Stella Usen, and Dr. Iniobong Umoh.
The orientation exercise equally featured interactive session between the supervisors and the facilitators.
