…awardee dedicates Merit Award to Itu People

The Nigerian Association of Technologists In Engineering (NATE), Akwa Ibom State Branch has honoured Engr. Emmanuel Udang, the immediate past Akwa Ibom State branch chairman of the revered engineering profession with a merit award of excellence in recognition of his numerous contributions towards human and technological development in the society.

The award of excellence was presented to Engr. Emmanuel Udang by Elder Engr. Ediomo Dominic Okon, the Akwa Ibom State Branch chairman of the association during her Recognition and Award/Dinner Ceremony with the Theme; Engineering and Development of Akwa Ibom State on Wednesday held at Nelson Mandela Hall, Watbridge Hotel and Suits, Uyo.

Presenting the award, Engr. Ediomo Dominic Okon eulogized the leadership acumen of Engr. Udang, the immediate past branch chairman of NATE describing him as an affable, savvy, technologically driven gentleman whom whose administration had recorded distintive hallmarks most significantly in his role towards the successful election of  Engr. Dominic Udoatan, KSM as the first Akwa Ibom National Chairman of NATE after 46 years of existence of the association.

Responding, Engr. Emmanuel Udang expressed gratitude to God Almighty for His Grace and privileges bestowed upon him and the family, also thanked and appreciated NATE for finding him feat and worthy for the award of excellence.

Engr. Udang however dedicated the award to the people of Itu Local Government Area which he hails from stating that it’s another great feather showcasing the potentialities of Itu people to the society most especially in the engineering profession while noting that he will continue to inject his wealth of knowledge for the growth and development of NATE both in the state and Nationally.

Other notable Akwa Ibom Sons who were honoured include; His Excellency Chief Assam Assam, SAN, Former Nigerian Ambassador to Russia, Engr. Etido Inyang, Chairman, Ibom Power Company Limited, Engr. Bassey Ekanem, MD, Base Engineering, Engr. Oliver Ebong, CEO, VKS Construction Company, Engr.  Engr. Uwem Stephen Okoko, CEO, of HENSEK Integrated Services Limited amongst others.
