SUBEB CONTINUES INSPECTION OF RESUMPTION OF SCHOOLS IN A’IBOM

The Akwa Ibom State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in continuation of her routine inspection to monitor the resumption of public schools in Akwa Ibom State has inspected not more 86 schools within the three Senatorial District of the state.

The team spread across Uyo, Ikot Ekpene and Eket Senatorial District respectively was led by Rt. Hon. Dr. Anietie Etuk, the Executive Chairman of SUBEB in company of Board members, Directors and Supervisors of the Board.
The Chairman while visiting Methodist Central School, Utu Uyo Road,
Methodist Primary School, Ibiakpan, Methodist Central School, Ikot Ekpene, Government School 1, Ikot Ekpene, Methodist School, Mbiafun Nkwono, Government School Ukim Ikot Etefia, Ikono Local Government Area all in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District tasked Head teachers as well as the teachers to remain committed, dedicated and focused towards the effective discharge of their assigned duties.

He frowned at the level of compliance by teachers in some of the primary schools in handling administrative duties thereby hindering a good service delivery, charged them to take their job seriously and deploy professionalism to aid them function and perfume effectively.
He also condermed the with strong terms the destruction, vandalization cum theft of government properties within and outside the school environment by some villagers, however urged the Head Teachers to harness, synergize and create an harmonious relationship between the school, community leaders and village head as part of modalities to avert the recurring incident in each area.
Rt. Hon. Anietie Etuk mentioned that the Akwa Ibom State Government through the board will set up a special award committee to reward outstanding public school teachers, said will serve as a catalyst to encourage and boost their performance to the wards.

Rt. Hon. Etuk thanked the state Governor Mr. Udom Emmanuel for the approval of N675 million for the payment of leave grant to teachers in government employment and other incentives while assuring the teachers the state government will continually be passionate and concern about their welfare cum wellbeing.
The Executive Chairman was flanked by the Director of Administration and Supply, Mrs. Mary Ekaette amongst others.
